Who is eligible to apply to the INSPIRITAS Scholars Program?

INSPIRITAS Scholars come from many different countries, with different levels of academic preparation and experience. However, their goals are the same—to be accepted and to enroll in a top-tier American university. We at INSPIRITAS are dedicated to helping all of our scholars achieve that goal. Whether you are just beginning high school, have partially completed high school, or recently graduated, our team of experienced and certified college counselors will evaluate your academic record, language skills and college aspirations to chart an individualized pathway, which will prepare you to become the strongest possible candidate for admission.

Do I spend most of my high school years studying in my home country?

YES! We believe that there is a definite advantage for young people to spend most of their adolescent years living with their families in their home countries. Once a student is 17 or 18 years of age and one year away from attending college, he or she is better prepared to handle the challenges of living abroad.

While INSPIRITAS Scholars spend a full academic year completing the requirements for graduation in an American high school, prior to that year of study, we will evaluate what each potential scholar has taken or will take at their high school in their home county.  We then suggest supplementary, web-based courses to address any academic gaps and strengthen their English language proficiency. INSPIRITAS academic counselors provide guidance and support to our Scholar candidates, to ensure that they get the most from their online course experience.

Are graduates of American public high schools academically prepared and accepted by top-tier colleges and universities?

We understand the admission requirements and preferences of American universities. All of our American high school partners offer a full range of Advanced Placement courses (AP) and honors elective classes.  We prepare our International Scholar candidates to take a full schedule of these classes. These are the same courses that are offered in the best American independent schools. American public school students also enroll in these courses when seeking admission to top-tier colleges and universities.

What is the cost?

Enrolling in the INSPIRITAS Scholars Program costs a fraction of what it would cost to enroll for four years in an American independent day or boarding school. Students, who enroll in the INSPIRITAS Scholars Program at the beginning of their high school career, receive four years of academic and college counseling. They take actively supported web-based preparatory courses and spend a full academic year attending an American high school. Scholar candidates receive all of this advising, preparation, placement and support for a cost equivalent to just one year of attendance in an American boarding school.

Where do Scholar candidates live?

INSPIRITAS supports their Scholar candidates in supervised homestays to ensure a safe, positive and nurturing experience. Students stay with host families in the same community as their school. Host families are paid for hosting, and INSPIRITAS handles the screening, placement and supervision during their one-year enrollment in an American high school. Host families have a strong desire to welcome a foreign student and help them experience American culture. They will also encourage and assist the Scholar candidate to participate in the many and varied extracurricular activities that their school has to offer.

Why choose INSPIRITAS?

We work with you to create an individualized pathway to achieve that goal. We prepare you for a successful academic experience in an American high school, leading to graduation. We know that a diploma from an American high school is essential to becoming a very attractive admissions candidate to the most competitive U.S. universities.
